Chris Phillips, ATC, CSCS

Founder and Owner

Chris is Founder and Owner of Compete Sports Performance & Rehab and sets the standard for Compete's performance training and sports medicine programs. He is a recognized board certified Athletic Trainer (NATA) and Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) that possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in the world of performance training and sports rehabilitation. Chris is also a Integrative Correctice Exercise Specialist, Certified Power Plate Trainer, a member of the Medical Fitness Network and a provider for US Figure Skating's National Network of Sports Medicine and a Sports Safety Specialist.

With more than 20 years of experience in professional sports, Chris has served as the Athletic Trainer for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League, The Los Angeles Sol of the Womens Professional Soccer League, and has served as both the Head Athletic Trainer and Head Strength Coach for the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League. More recently, Chris has supervised the sports medicine and performance training programs for the Orange County Blues of the Men's USL Pro League and Anaheim Bolts of the Professional Indoor Soccer League. Chris is also one of the Co-Founders for 90strong.com, a soccer performance training website where Chris frequently contributes his knowldege of sports medicine and strength & conditioning. He has written for High School Illustrated Magazine, Cali Rubber Magazine and Men's Journal.

While working in the NHL, Chris's proudest moment was being a member of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finalist, Mighty Ducks. He was also selected as the Head Athletic Trainer for the 2002 Men's USA Hockey National Team that competed in Sweden. Throughout his career, Chris has worked with elite athletes including Alex Ovechkin, Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya, JS Giguere, Joy Fawcett, Marta and Shannon Boxx.

Brandon Lambert

Brandon serves as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for Compete Sports Performance & Rehab. Brandon brings superior experience as both an athlete and coach to the staff. He also serves as the current Defensive Coordinator for the Tustin High School Varsity Football Team. 

As a 3 sport stand out at Tustin High School (football, basketball, and track), Brandon earned a football scholarship to Boise State University and spent one season at Boise State prior to transferring Santa Ana College in which he subsequently received another scholarship to play at San Jose State University. At Compete, Brandon works with both our private clients and teams and directs our Adult SportFlex Small Group Training.

 

 

Kojo Ahrin CSCS

Kojo is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He attended Northern Arizona University where he played football and studied sports exercise. Kojo currently runs Compete's Athletic Performance classes as well as semi private training. His expertise is in running mechanics, speed and agility. He currently works with various sports agencies preparing athletes for the NFL Combine. Kojo is currently completing his doctorate in Sports Psychology and serves as a consultant in Mental Performance at Compete.

 

 

 

 

 

Jenna Janadi ATC

Jenna is a certified athletic trainer and graduate of Plymouth State University, where she received her Master's in Athletic Training.  She attended Cal State University, Fullerton for undergrad, where she got her Bachelor's in Kinesiology.  Her primary responsibilities at Compete include serving as the Athletic Trainer at Capistrano Valley Christian School, the Ontario Avalanche Junior Hockey Team, Saddleback Valley Pop Warner and Socal Blues club soccer. Jenna also works with athletes at Compete's Lake Forest facility.

 

 

 

Katrina McCoy ATC, EMT

Katrina is a certified Athletic Trainer who gained her undergraduate degree from the University of La Verne. To add an extra layer of preparation for emergent situations, she attained an Emergency Medical Technician certification from California Institute for Emergency Medical Training. She has worked as an ATC in an industrial setting, a chiropractic clinic, and taught at California State University, Los Angeles. She currently trains youth athletes and adults at Compete in Lake Forest and provides Athletic Training coverage at local sports events.

 

 

 

Tim Kilpatrick

Tim Kilpatrick is a graduate of Salem State University in Massachussetts with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. Tim was a member of the Men's Soccer Team all four years at Salem. Tim has been invloved in coaching soccer skills for both Global Premier Soccer and Cypress Futbol Club. Tim teaches Compete's Athletic Performance Class and trains both athletes and adults in the Lake Forest office. He also directs Compete's Elite Soccer Training.

 

 

 

 

 Amanda Kasten, ATC

Amanda Kasten is a board certified Athletic Trainer and graduate of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania where she primarily covered   football, lacrosse and cross country. Amanda started at Compete as a client when she was a competitive cheerleader for Lady Bullets        where she won a World Championship in 2013. At Compete, Amanda works with athletes both in sports injury rehab and sports         performance training and provides Athletic Training coverage for events. 

 

 

Jared Covarubias CSCS

Jared Covarrubias graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelors Degree in Kiniesiology with an emphasis in Sports Performance and Coaching. Jared is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and also certified in Precision Nutrition. Jared is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine.
